Priorities for 2006 to 2009
Taking seriously the work of Christ in today's world.
- Be inspired worshippers
- Be confident evangelists
- Be faithful followers of Jesus
- Be committed to personal development
- Make a positive contribution
Priority 1 means that we need to develop styles that enable people to express their worship to God in a meaningful way every week. Priority 2 seeks to find ways of increasing people's confidence, so they can share their faith with others in a natural way. Priority 3 is to encourage people to develop and communicate effectively the vision of the church, so that every person feels that they have had opportunities to contribute to it and own it. Priority 4 should enable people to grow in their Christian faith. We need to have many more "mature" Christians. Like Paul the apostle the more they `grow` the more they see the sinfulness of their own lives. Priority 5 should encourage and enable everyone to discover their God-given gifts and to learn how to use them in the service of the community and church. |
